What is Clarity Breathwork?
Clarity Breathwork is a cleansing, clarifying and healing process that works at all levels of your being to bring about deep yet lasting transformation. Past stories are rewritten. Old patterns are broken. Trauma, grief and fear are released and replaced with a profound sense of peace, ease and awareness. Life becomes less of a struggle and more of a flowing, conscious acceptance of who you are and where you are consciously choosing to go in your life.
What tools do you have in your toolbox? Since I have been doing transformational work with clients for over 23 years, I now have a pretty deep and interesting toolbox from which I draw. As an Integrative Coach and seasoned Holistic Psychotherapist, I work at all levels of your being to assist you in creating the live you truly desire. Working intuitively, tools that I may integrate into the breathwork session include:
~ Hypnotherapy visualizations and NLP (Neuro-linguistic programming)
~ Life Coaching
~ Somatic processing (working with body stories)
~ Creative expression during or between sessions (journaling, painting, collage)
~ CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, which is actually applied Buddhist psychology!)
~ Various forms of breath, meditation and focusing practices

Give me a call and let’s spend a few minutes talking about you: Your current life situation and the future you desire. We’ll get to know each other a bit and then set up a time to do an Intake Session to begin the journey.
What do we do in the Intake Session?
The Intake Session is the time for me to gather useful information about you that will guide our work together, as well the time for you to get to know me and how I work. This first session is where we co-create our working partnership, set goals and commit to desired outcomes. Common things will will explore include:
- The current logistics of your life.
- Significant life events from your past that impact current beliefs and choices.
- Sabotaging fears, engrained stories, negative beliefs, habits and behaviors.
- Personal strengths and resources in your life that support you.
- Spiritual perspectives and practices.
- Physical health, exercise, eating, stress level and strategies you currently use for self care.
- Recreation, hobbies and passions.
- Level of satisfaction in the various parts of your life.
- Life Mission, Future Vision and Goals for your life.
- Your top 10 Values and top ten Needs at this time.
- When appropriate, we also use various assessments that help you know yourself better and for us to create a common story and language about your way of being in the world.
How long does Clarity Breathwork take to work?
My experience over the past 7 years as a Clarity Breathwork Practitioner, along with the decades of experience of my teachers, a series of 10 sessions has shown to be most effective in facilitating deep and lasting transformation. At the end of 10 sessions we will evaluate where you are in relation to your initial goals and desired outcomes and celebrate all your successes to date. You can then consciously commit to more breathwork with a renewed set of goals as you work at an even deeper level in transforming your life.
What basically happens in a session?
Each session after the Intake is 1.5 hours long.
~ We begin with a 20 – 30 minute check-in to explore successes and challenges since our last session in relation to the goals we set in the Intake session.
~ Then we take the remainder of the time to dive into breath. Full body breathing is best done in a supine position on a massage table or couch. After getting comfortable, I ask you to breathe a deep gentle connected breath (no pause at end of inhale or exhale). I’ll coach you in various ways to activate a deep integrative connection between the breath, your body and your intuition. What arises during this time are the images, stories and thoughts that often need to be released and rewritten to support you in your life. My teachers of this method like to say “Drama just creates more Trauma,” which is simply an invitation to surrender to the healing power of the breath, and to keep breathing. Some breath sessions are emotionally stimulating and some are peacefully quiet. No matter what it looks like, I always see transformation happening in the room.
~ At the conclusion of the breath session, I’ll give you plenty of space and time to integrate. You will leave the session with written insights and affirmations and a clear co-created agreement about next steps in your journey.
What’s so powerful about the Breath?
Breath is life. In yoga we call the breath prana, which means “life force” and also means “breath.” For a detailed explanation of the power of the breath, see my blog post Just Breathe. What we are learning in the medical world about cancer, illness and stress is that the cells in our body are literally starving for oxygen due to poor diet, lack of sleep and inadequate breathing. What we know in the meditation and yoga world is that breath is the number one tool for becoming present and is one of the most beneficial things we can do to heal the body. Yes, it really is that powerful!
Do you hold group Clarity Breathwork Circles?
Yes. I am set to hold a Clarity Beathwork Circle each season beginning in the Summer of 2012. As a yoga teacher and meditation facilitator, I use a wide variety of yoga breath practices, also called pranayama, in all my offerings. So, regardless of which event of mine you attend, you will always be invited to develop an ongoing relationship with transformative breath. Tell me about how you discovered Clarity Breathwork and about your training as a practitioner.
I have been counseling others for 26 years, leading expressive arts, support groups and women’s circles for 22 years, licensed as a therapist for 15, trained and working as a life coach for 15. My work as a therapist took a radical shift when I discovered my body as a portal to transformation. I discovered and fell in love with yoga (yes, it did change my life) and became a certified Bikram and Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga teacher 11 years ago. Around that same time in 2001 I was invited to a women’s circle led by my teacher Ashanna Solaris in which I was surrounded by women vibrantly alive in their bodies, in their power and moving from their hearts instead of their heads. I thought “Wow! I want to be alive like that!.” After working with Ashanna for a series of 10 Clarity Breathwork Sessions and Peter DeLong for another series, I eventually became certified in 2004 as a Clarity Breathwork Practitioner.

I have various packages, including a 3 month retainer, 1 month retainer and a per session cost. Email me or call for details.
